How do I get charged?
Toll charges depend on the category of your vehicle as determined by the motorway you are travelling on. For more information regarding toll fees of other motorways, please refer to the websites of the respective motorway.
Attention:
If you carry a variable load that may alter the height of your vehicle (e.g. vehicle rack):
- Use a manual toll lane to avoid any possible misclassification of your car.
- If you use an electronic toll lane with no height restriction, you will be charged the toll fee of a higher vehicle category, as automatically recorded by the automated system.
- If you use an electronic toll lane with height restriction, there is a posibbility of accident.

The setting/location of the electronic toll lanes differs per toll station and, therefore, you must pay attention to the signage to enter into the right toll lane safely.
What does GRITS (Greek Interoperable Tolling Systems) mean?
This service allows motorway users to travel through all Greek motorway network, using any Greek transponder / tag.
When did the extended GRITS (including all Greek Motorways) begin?
It began on the 4th of November, 2020.
Which motorways are part of GRITS?
All Greek Motorways (Aegean Motorway, Attiki Odos, Olympia Odos, Moreas, Nea Odos, Kentriki Odos, Egnatia Odos and Gefyra “Charilaos Trikoupis”).
What should I consider when choosing the most suitable transponder for me?
The selection of the most suitable transponder is a matter of personal choice. However, some of the factors that you might consider are:
- The discounts and offers that each subscriber service offers.
- The road network you use more frequently
- Your city of residence
Is there something I should do in order to use my eway transponder on another Greek motorway?
No, GRITS service is offered FREE OF CHARGE, without any action required from your part.
What other privileges does eway offer to eway subscribers?
Eway service is constantly looking into new offers and privileges for its customers. In this content, the current offers for eway subscribers include:
- Participation in the Yellow reward program from Pireaus bank
- Cooperation with Anytime insurance
Do eway discounts and offers apply to other motorway subsribers as well?
All discounts and offers provided by a motorway subscriber program are valid only on the respective motorway. Therefore, all eway discounts and offers are provided exclusively to eway subscribers. For the other motorway subscribers, the nominal toll prices apply, with no discounts.
I am a truck driver and I currently benefit from the eway discounts for trucks. If I drive through Aegean Motorway with a different motorway transponder, will I receive the same discounts?
No, because the discounts are applied only to eway subscribers. For the other motorway transponders, the nominal toll prices apply, with no discounts.
I am a motorcycle user and an eway subscriber of “eway bike” program (subscriber card). Can I use the same card at the toll stations of other motorways?
No, because GRITS apply only to transactions using a transponder and not any kind of cards.
Can I top up my eway account at a Customer Service Point of a different motorway?
No. However, eway account top up can be easily and quickly achieved with one of the following ways:
- On-line through myeway.gr, via credit or debit card
- By phone at +30 2414 401010, via credit or debit card
- At one of our 3 Customer Service Points, by using cash or credit /debit card
- At any Aegean Motorway toll lane with a toll collector, by using cash or credit / debit card
- At any co-operating bank or organization, by using cash or card or E-Banking/phone Banking
Please remember: Before you set off for your journey, if you intend to travel on another Greek motorway, please ensure that you have sufficient credit in your account.
Can I have 2 or more transponders (of different Greek Motorways) inside my vehicle?
In case there are 2 or more transponders active while passing through an electronic toll lane, there is a possibility of charging the wrong transponder. It is preferable to use only one transponder. In case you choose to use more than one, be sure to secure the transponder that should not be charged in the special protective bag, while passing through the toll lane.
How can I be informed regarding my account/transponder issues?
Each subscriber should contact the customer service department of the motorway that issues the respective transponder. Eway subscribers can contact Aegean Motorway customer service by phone (+30 2414 401010), though the website (www.myeway.gr) or by visiting one of our Customer Service Points (Pelasgia Toll station – Athens direction, Makrychori Toll Station – Thessaloniki direction, Kleidi Toll Station – Athens direction)
