Where and how do I use eway?

Εnjoy travelling without delays!

You can travel with eway through the electronic lanes of toll stations managed by Aegean Motorway and all Greek motorways.

How to install the transponder

Depending on the category of your vehicle, place the transponder on your windscreen according to the following instructions:

  1. Attach the transponder to its base
  2. Clean the surface where you will place the eway transponder using the cloth provided in the box
  3. Remove the cover of the adhesive surface at the bottom of its base. Stick the transponder pressing firmly for 30 seconds

For vehicles cat. 2 (light vehicles with a height of up to 2.20 m.) the transponder is placed on the inside of the windscreen behind the rear-view mirror of the vehicle.

For vehicles cat. 3 & 4 (vehicles with 2 or more axles and height >2,20 m.) the transponder is placed in the middle of the lower part on the inside of the windscreen.

How to safely go through the electronic lanes

Go through the electronic lanes of toll stations with the specific signage. When entering an electronic toll lane, please ensure that the vehicle ahead has completed the transaction and the barrier has come down.

Please respect the speed limit of 20 km/ hr and keep a distance of at least 10 meters from the preceding vehicle. Be ready to stop your vehicle before the barrier, if necessary.

With eway you can also pass through double – marked lanes – Hybrid lanes – where the transponder is charged at a priority.

Please place your transponder in the special protective case whenever you don’t want to be charged.

Please note

Your transponder must be permanently placed on your vehicle, where indicated. If there are special sensors in the windscreen of the vehicle, consult the user manual.

If you have another network transponder, place on the windscreen only the device you wish to be charged. Use the special protective case to store any other transponder.

If you carry a variable load that affects the height of your vehicle, please use a manual lane to avoid miscategorization of your vehicle.
